Kiccho manussapaṭilābho

Rare is the gaining of the human state

kicchaṃ maccānaṃ jīvitaṃ

difficult is the life of mortal beings

kicchaṃ saddhammasavaṇaṃ

rare to hear the true Dhamma

kiccho buddhānaṃ uppādo.

rare are the arising of Buddhas

Sabbapāpassa akaraṇaṃ

Not doing of all evil

kusalassa upasampadā

entering into the wholesome

sacittapariyodapanaṃ

purifying one's own mind

etaṃ buddhāna(ṃ) sāsanaṃ.

this is the teaching of the Buddhas.

Na hi verena verāni

It is not by hatred that hatred

sammantīdha kudācanaṃ.

subsides here anytime.

averena ca sammanti.

but by non-hatred they subside.

esa dhammo sanantano.

this is an eternal law.
